Michael has successfully operated, developed and contributed to hotel and resort operations and openings, providing senior leadership and advisory services. The major international hotel brands he has worked with include Outrigger Resorts, Hyatt International, Intercontinental Hotel Group, Accor, Marriott, and Banyan Tree Resorts. The 35 years of experience within Southeast Asia covers such destinations as Singapore, Indonesia, Maldives, Mauritius, India, Vietnam, and the home base of Thailand.
The culmination of skills through the various hotel groups and independent projects consolidated his experience as Owners Development Advisor, which included Master Planning, Concept & Facilities plans and Project Administration.
As Vice President, Development Asia Pacific for the Outrigger brand in the Asia Pacific, Michael achieved a significant number of asset acquisitions and management contracts spanning 8 years. With acquisitions in Mauritius, Maldives, Phuket, Samui and Fiji.
In the various consultancy roles that included being a principal in C9 Hotelworks & Beacon Sky Hospitality, Michael has overseen the planning of numerous mixed-use developments, conducted evaluations of existing hotel operations, and carried out numerous operational audits and project feasibility studies. His Asian hotel industry experience includes a particular focus on developing mixed-use resort and residential projects from design to completion and operation.
